EIT 8.4 Erweiterung Schnittstellen für Integration PV / Wallbox (Modbus RTU/TCP)

Modbus-KNX interfaces, also known as gateways, act as translators between the Modbus and KNX protocols, thereby enabling the seamless integration of Modbus-compatible devices into a KNX building automation system.

These gateways establish a bidirectional connection that enables a KNX system to read data from Modbus devices and control them. In doing so, the interface typically assumes the role of the master in Modbus communication. This allows the integration of a wide range of devices from the fields of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), energy metering (electricity meters, heat meters), charging points for electric vehicles and photovoltaic inverters into the KNX system.

This configuration requires a minimum set of KNX, wallbox and PV components. These components can also be found under EIT8 KNX, ESM8 E-Mobility and ESE 1 Smart Energies.
The interfaces are configured via ETS and i-Bus.
