Fundamentals of power engineering

Multimedia-based and practice-oriented entry into the world of power engineering.

Based on a large number of experiments and animations, the multimedia course on power engineering provides insight into our present-day issues involving energy. The fundamentals of DC, AC and three-phase technology as well as the processes taking place in power distribution grids and networks are dealt with in the various courses.

The Smart Grid equipment set including the corresponding multimedia course forms the introduction to intelligent power distribution networks. Here all the topics involving power generation, power transmission, power distribution and energy consumption are covered with basic experiments.

Experiments using safe extra-low voltages can be conducted using the multimedia courses of the UniTrain system. These include typical processes of particular importance when generating and distributing electrical power.

Experiments with current and voltage transformers form the foundation for experiments using protective relays.
