On the mechatronic unit, there is a workpiece carrier with a fully assembled product (either a block consisting of upper and lower part and bolts, or a painted car consisting of chassis, circuit board, and body). The camera inspection uses an industrial camera from Basler and enables, among other things, the inspection of component colors and shapes. For the processing, an AI controller with an Nvidia Jetson board is used, which communicates with the PLC via OPC UA. After the inspection process is completed, the loaded workpiece carrier moves to the end of the conveyor belt, where it is taken over by the next unit.
