IMS 19 Subsystem quality control with AI
A workpiece carrier travels on the conveyor belt to the AI camera station. A magnetic sensor triggers image capture; defined lighting ensures reproducible conditions. An industrial camera captures the workpiece and the image is analyzed on an edge computer using a pre-trained AI model. The result (e.g., OK/NOK or classes A/B/C) is transferred to the PLC. Depending on the classification, the PLC controls a direction that guides the workpiece carrier to an OK or reject position.
