Supplemental restraint systems (SRS) such as airbags and seatbelt tensioners have been standard equipment in all vehicle classes for years and are continuously being improved and expanded. Since these systems have been proven to save lives, they receive special attention and must function flawlessly at every moment. Therefore, any service work or repairs must be carried out with the utmost care. This UniTrain course introduces the trainee to the basics of SRS technology. The focus is on how an airbag works, as well as the deployment conditions and the deployment process. Through the synergy of e-learning course and hardware, the trainee receives a holistic practical introduction to the functioning of the supplementary restraint systems and their fault diagnosis.
