Renewable Energy and Energy Industry Laboratory

Renewable Energy and Energy Industry Laboratory
A secure, reliable, environmentally friendly and affordable energy supply is one of the central pillars of our industrial society. In the course of the transition to renewable energy, these attributes are to be achieved with highly fluctuating energy sources such as wind power and solar energy.

Besides imparting essential fundamental knowledge with regard to renewable energies, the main focus is on investigating how large parts of these technologies can be integrated into existing grid infrastructure. Consequently, the areas covered include energy storage technologies, the linking of the electricity, heat and transport sectors and smart grid technologies.

March 2015 saw the official opening of the new laboratory in which undergraduate and postgraduate students receive training as smart grid specialists on Lucas-Nülle GmbH training systems.

Laboratory head Prof. Ingo Stadler and vice president Prof. Sylvia Heuchemer wished the laboratory engineers and final year students every success for their future practical training in the new laboratory.
