Atert-Lycée Redange

The chance to be involved in establishing a school, devising the concept and designing the layout of the classrooms is a unique opportunity for any teacher. Just this kind of opportunity presented itself to Gerald Anzia, a teacher at the Atert-Lycée Redange, and Claude Boever, the head teacher of the newly founded school. The two men are the driving force behind a school project that is breaking new ground. ‘Time for more’ is the motto. More support, more practical relevance across all subjects, but not more funds: that was the challenge. A year and a half after the launch of the school, both men are positive about what has been achieved. The completely new training course for EQ technicians, which was planned in close cooperation with regional businesses, is also going down well.

“It was clear to me that the equipment would play a key role in the success of the training we offered. I therefore carried out a thorough check of the available training systems in order to determine which one would meet our requirements – of which there were many. Firstly, I think it is essential for trainees to familiarise themselves with computer-based work techniques and that these techniques should at the same time support independent learning, which is where my support as a teacher comes in. Secondly, a consistent move away from a teacher-centred lecture approach to teaching was a fundamental precondition of this,” says Gerald Anzia. In the end, he opted for Lucas-Nülle’s training systems.
