IMS 32 Flexible production facility with gantry robot and 4 stations

The facility can be used for the automated production of a three-part workpiece. A conveyor belt is used to transport the workpiece carriers to the processing stations. A bottom segment is conveyed to a workpiece carrier and driven to the unloading position. There, a gantry robot takes the bottom segment from the carrier and transports it to the conveyor belt with the top segment fitting station. Once the top segment has been fitted, the workpiece, which now comprises two parts, can be transported to either the handling station (shipping point) or the bolt fitting station. This makes the flexible production of workpieces comprising one, two or three parts possible.
A variety of project tasks can be realised by linking multiple transport systems.
- Transport system: Double belt conveyor with DC drive motors, a three-phase drive motor and an S7-1200 controller.
